We are introducing passkey authentication for your Manulife iFUNDS account. Passkey is a new, safer way to log in to websites and apps. Instead of typing a password, you can use your Face ID, fingerprint, or device PIN to sign in quickly and securely.

Passkeys help keep your account secure and make logging in easier and no need to remember or type passwords. With passkeys or two-factor authentication, you will be able to sign in to your Manulife iFUNDS account simply by unlocking your personal device.

Frequently Asked Questions

A passkey is a new, safer way to log in to websites and apps. Instead of typing a password, you can use your Face ID, fingerprint, or device PIN to sign in quickly and securely.

Passkeys are stored safely on your device or in trusted apps like iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager. They are protected with encryption and can’t be stolen or guessed like traditional passwords. Even if your device is lost, no one can use your passkey without your Face ID, fingerprint, or screen lock.

Passkeys help keep your account secure and make logging in easier and no need to remember or type passwords.

Yes, you can still log in with your password even after creating a passkey. The passkey is just another way for login—it's faster and more secure, but using password remains an option.

Passkeys are a safer and more convenient way for login. They offer stronger protection than using a password together with a one-time passcode or a phone approval.

Traditional passwords can be stolen or guessed, especially if reused across different websites. Even extra steps like one-time passcode can be tricked by fake websites and are often slow or frustrating. Passkeys help to avoid these risks and enable secure login faster and easier.

No. Your biometric data— such as your fingerprint or Face ID —is never stored by Manulife. It stays safely on your device and is only used as your authentication for login purposes.

Passkeys are supported on most modern devices and operating systems. To check if your device supports passkeys:

Mobile Devices

  • iPhone/iPad: Supported on iOS 16 and above. Go to Settings > Passwords > Password Options and ensure AutoFill Passwords and Passkeys is turned on.
  • Android Phones: Supported on Android 9 and above. For full passkey features and third-party password manager support, Android 14 or later is recommended.

Computers

  • Mac: Supported on macOS 13 and above. Use Safari or Chrome for passkey login.
  • Windows: Supported on Windows 10/11 (version 23H2 and above). Use browsers like Chrome, Edge, or Firefox with Windows Hello enabled.
  • Chromebooks: Supported on ChromeOS 108 and above.

Browsers

  • Safari: Version 16.1+
  • Chrome: Version 108+
  • Firefox: Version 122+
  • Edge: Version 122+

If you're unsure about your device or browser version, check your system settings or browser's "About" section. Using the latest software updates ensures the best passkey experience.

Note: If your device (e.g. certain models of Huawei, OPPO, Xiaomi) does not support Passkeys, an error during the setup or a login problem will occur. In that case, please simply use your email address or Login No. together with your password to log in.

Yes, you can still use passkeys even if your device doesn’t have biometric features:

  • Use your device’s screen lock (device PIN, password, or pattern) to provide your passkey
  • Use passkeys stored in trusted application (iCloud KeyChain, Google Password Manager) or physical security keys (like YubiKey)
  • Use QR code login from a mobile phone or tablet computer that supports passkeys. Note: This method requires Bluetooth to connect the devices securely

Many devices now offer a feature to sync passkeys through a cloud account. Passkey syncing is encrypted end-to-end. When you create a passkey, you can then use the passkey on all devices through your cloud account. Even if you get a new device, your passkeys will sync once you have signed in to your cloud account.

Passkey syncing is encrypted end-to-end and sync providers have strong account security protections. Phishing-resistance is achieved by signing in to a cloud account, regardless of whether cryptographic passkeys are bound to the device.

If you’ve set up a passkey, you can log in on your new device as follows:

1.     Use a synced password manager like iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager. When you sign in to your cloud account and syncing is turned on, your passkey will appear automatically.

2.    Create a new passkey on your new device. First, log in your new device with your password, then go to Passkey settings to set up a new passkey.

If you still hold your old device, you can save your passkey to your cloud account, making it easier to access your cloud account via your new device.

If you no longer use an old device and want to remove your passkey from it, go to your passkey settings and look for the list of saved passkeys. From there, you can delete the passkey linked to that device. If you're using a password manager or cloud account (like iCloud or Google), you may also need to remove the passkey from the application.

Yes. You can create passkeys on multiple devices, such as your mobile phone and tablet computer. This helps your login via different devices without needing to transfer a passkey each time.

No, it’s not safe to create a passkey on public or shared devices. Someone else could access compromise your passkey. Always set up passkeys only on your device and trusted application.
